چکیده

The detection of emotions in text is a key issue for the development of intelligent systems. As demonstrated by the Turing test, a machine cannot be considered really intelligent unless it is also capable of perceiving and expressing emotions. In this work we focus on building a knowledge base which merges Common Sense and affective knowledge and use dimensionality reduction to perform emotive reasoning on it.

AffectiveSpace 2: Enabling Affective Intuition for Concept-Level Sentiment Analysis

Predicting the a↵ective valence of unknown multiword expressions is key for concept-level sentiment analysis. A↵ectiveSpace 2 is a vector space model, built by means of random projection, that allows for reasoning by analogy on natural language concepts. By reducing the dimensionality of a↵ective common-sense knowledge, the model allows semantic features associated with concepts to be generaliz...

Developing Emotion-Oriented Morality through Fiction

Background: As a peculiar epistemological procedure to understand and represent world facts, literature has ‎constantly imparted major contributions to human knowledge. Literature’s epistemological ‎effects bear on both cognitive and affective measures; however, its emotional functioning is ‎more remarkable. Fiction resorts to mimesis on readers’ mind in developing such moral emotions as empath...

Sentic Medoids: Organizing Affective Common Sense Knowledge in a Multi-Dimensional Vector Space

Existing approaches to opinion mining and sentiment analysis mainly rely on parts of text in which opinions and sentiments are explicitly expressed such as polarity terms and affect words. However, opinions and sentiments are often conveyed implicitly through context and domain dependent concepts, which make purely syntactical approaches ineffective. To overcome this problem, we have recently p...

Erratum: Common Sense Knowledge Based Personality Recognition from Text

Past works on personality detection has shown that psycho-linguistic features, frequency based analysis at lexical level, emotive words and other lexical clues such as number of first person or second person words carry major role to identify personality associated with the text. In this work, we propose a new architecture for the same task using common sense knowledge with associated sentiment...

Sentic Activation: A Two-Level Affective Common Sense Reasoning Framework

An important difference between traditional AI systems and human intelligence is our ability to harness common sense knowledge gleaned from a lifetime of learning and experiences to inform our decision making and behavior. This allows humans to adapt easily to novel situations where AI fails catastrophically for lack of situation-specific rules and generalization capabilities. Common sense know...
